Networking

- Tested internet speeds

- Tested router with dedicated internet line

- Plugged in 12 port switch

- plugged in 7 ethernet wires

- Assign the printer a DHCP reservation

- Assigned John McNamara's laptop a DHCP reservation

- Tested RDS OutofOffice

Setup

1/28/2017

- Staff came in and hooked up their laptops to the network and connected their second monitors

- Access RDS without any issues

- John McNamara's laptop has the "Geltman Drive" we shared and mapped it to all the staff, they then had it as a network drive. RDS icon had to add the additional drive as a resource in order for it to map to RDS.

- Hooked up printer (next year we need the driver for the printer)

- Had everyone shutdown and re-connect to ensure they can come and go without issues

New changes - 2019 we used a new printer and flash drive (plugged into router as the Geltman Drive). We provided a spare laptop off the Smolin network. The only problem was on RDS there was no deleting from the Geltman Drive. This was only possible locally. John McNamara's laptop no longer needed for setup. The new Lenovo laptops do not have VGA or DVI ports so special cables were needed.

Scroll down to where you see SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support and expand. You will see the client box is unticked. Tick it and click OK and it will ask you to reboot.
