Here are a few thing you can do to speed up Outlook


1. Outlook not responding? Go to the System Tray>Right click on the Outlook icon>Hit cancel server request.  

  



2. Disable animation. Go to File>Advanced>Under Display check "Disable hardware graphics acceleration" and uncheck "Use animation when expanding conversations and groups"



3. Disable Outlook Add-ins. File>Options>Add-Ins>Select COM Add-Ins then Go


Disable unnecessary Add-Ins.

4. Bold unread messages. Click on the View Ribbon>Change view>Manage View...


Under current view settings click modify


In the Advanced View Settings window click Conditional Formatting...


Select unread messages then Font...


Select a bold font then hit OK then OK for the other windows you opened.
